Sony has been coming up with a lot of futuristic products over the past couple of years. However, till now, none of these products were available for sale in the market. But now, one of them, or we can say the most awaited item from Sony, will soon hit the market. Yes, we are talking about the Xperia Touch. For those who do not know, Xperia Touch is a projector that is capable of turning any flat surface into a touchscreen with the help of a smart projector.

The device was unveiled at the Mobile World Conference earlier this year and is not just a normal projector as it seems. The Xperia Touch projector is can easily project a full 23-inch Android screen or interface on a table or wall, or any other surface which can be operated by simple human touch. Not only that, the users have an option to take the interface produced by the projector to up to 80 inches, thus easily allowing you to project it on a wall or an entire table. The only problem with this is that it has a fixed resolution of 1366 x768, with the contrast ratio of 4,000:1 and brightness of 100 lumens. So, it is possible that the Android interface might blur out when stretched too much.

Going into a bit of detail, the Xperia touch’s multi-touch interface is produced by a camera emitting an infrared light array at 60 frames per second. Just similar to an Android device, it contains all the features like 3GB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, 32GB internal storage an accelerometer, a gyroscope etc. The interface runs on Android Nougat powered by a 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 650 SoC processor. There is a 13 MP camera as well to take good photos.

The touch interface is capable of running all kind of Android applications just as we use them on your smartphones. You can also videos, pictures, slideshows and what not? In the showcase, you just had to raise your fingers in the air to get a cursor on the screen, pinching depicting the click or select action. However, the only thing we found dull was the picture quality of the projected interface.
