It’s been almost a year since OnePlus launched its flagship One plus 2 smartphone last July in a VR launch event in which the company sent out cardboard based VR headsets to its customers. And now, they have launched a limited edition Loop VR headsets, may be for its upcoming flagship device.
The company’s co-founder Carl Pie recently announced that the OnePlus 3 will also be introduced in a VR launch event. He commented that this year the company is taking one step further and asked its consumers to forget the cardboard. This time, the company is planning for a brand new OnePlus Loop VR headsets which will provide more robust, immersive and comfortable experience to the users.
OnePlus have teamed up with VR specialists, AntVR, to give away 30,000 specially made Oneplus VR headsets. The company is giving all of them on first come first serve basis. To be fair, the headsets are not like the Samsung Gear headsets. They are calling it “The Loop”, which features 100-degree field of view, fits 5-6 inch smartphone easily, has orthoscopic lenses and weighs only 366 grams.
For a distortion-free field of view, lenses can be fine-tuned for better focus. It also has an adjustable strap and snug inner padding for better comfort. The Loop VR fits perfectly over glasses as well so that people who wear spectacles can enjoy the VR experience just like people with normal eyes do. The Loop VR headsets will be available and can be claimed for free on Oneplus website from 3rd June to 7th June. Still the release date of the OnePlus 3 is not announced, but it is expected to be in the third or fourth week of June.
The Loop VR headsets will be available from the first week of June. So, if you want to be among the few lucky customers to get the headsets for free, make sure to head over to the OnePlus website regularly early next month.
