Google released the next version of Android, i.e. Android 8.0 Oreo a few weeks back for its pixel phones. However, the beta version of Android 8.0 is now available to download for Oneplus 3T as well as Oneplus 3 smartphones. Oneplus has made it available using the company’s open beta program and the users can directly download it from Settings >About phone > Check for updates. This new operating system comes embedded with the oxygen OS beta build 16. It weighs around 870 MB in size and was officially announced last Saturday night.

There are a lot of new features in Android 8.0 Oreo but along with that, there are some look enhancements included by the company as well specifically focussing OneOlus 3 and OnePlus 3T mobile devices. Users can now take advantage of the picture in picture mode, form autofill, redesigned quick settings and smart text selection after the update. All these features are part of the stock version of Android Oreo and other users running the same operating system can take advantage of these features as well.

Since it is a beta build only, there might be some bugs pertaining in the software package that might cause it to crash often and can even create some problems that you might not have seen in your smartphone before. If we believe the Shenzen, a consumer electronics manufacturing company based on Guandong, they already have a list of issues in the new Beta update which includes slow fingerprint recognition, unreliable NFC and Bluetooth connection, third-party app connection and performance problems etc. OnePlus said that they are planning to release Android 8.0 for all their devices. We just hope that they get rid of all these bugs before launching it for other OnePlus smartphones.

ONEPLUS 3 Android 8.0 Oreo

The OnePlus team announced a few weeks back that the new Android 8.0 Oreo upgrade will be last major upgrade that its smartphones (those which were launched in 2016) will receive. We are pretty sure that their latest flagship device, OnePlus 5 will get the Android 9.0 P upgrade as well, but we cant say the same for OnePlus 3. There is still no news or date for the official stable release, but it should not take more than a few weeks for the developers to get rid of the minor bugs and release the final stable version for all OnePlus smartphones. There is an additional news too. You might also see a OnePlus 5T device coming up in the holiday season as well. This is still a rumor and there is no concrete evidence to prove it till now.
