We have been seeing a lot of leaks and rumours regarding the upcoming Samsung Gear Fit 2 from various sources. The latest report from SamMobile tells us the exact hardware details that we are going to see in Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker.
The Gear Fit 2 apparently features a 1.55 inch Super AMOLED display screen with screen resolution of 216 x 432 pixels. In addition to that, Samsung has embedded a dual-core processor to power the small device assisted by 512 MB RAM as well as 2 GB internal storage.
The watch is also IP68 water resistant and packs a 200 mAh battery enough to keep all the functions alive for a day. Other sensors installed in Samsung Gear Fit 2 include a heart rate monitor, gyroscope sensor, barometer, GPS and an accelerometer.
Looking at these specifications, it looks like Samsung haven’t upgraded their original Fit gear impressively. The previous version of Gear Fit had the same sensors and similar battery capacity. The only new thing in Gear Fit 2 is GPS as well as curved AMOLED screen.
Also, Samsung is planning to release something new this week. They have already started sending out invitations for their event that will take place on 2nd June in New York City.
The event is going to be an unpacked event and that is why we are pretty sure about the fact that Samsung won’t unveil any new smartphone in tomorrow’s event. The only option they are left with is the new Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker. The new tracker is going to take place of the original Gear Fit device that was launched back in 2014.
We also expect a pair of Bluetooth earbuds which will be touch controlled from Samsung. These earbuds are going to be dust as well as water resistant and will offer 4 GB internal storage as well, thus capable of replacing your music player completely.
